If you are a Photography enthusiast, get your cameras ready for the world’s largest photographic competition. All you need to do is take awesome pictures of monuments in your countries and submit them to the Wikimedia for review within this September.
Wiki Loves Monuments (WLM) is a photography competition aimed at creating a freely licensed repository of photographs of historical monuments and heritage sites around the world. Held in September every year, it is the world’s largest photographic competition according to the Guinness Book of World Records. Fifty countries including oceanic Antarctica are participating this year in the contest, which is organised by Wikimedia Chapters in the respective countries and various Wikimedia groups.
How to Participate in WLM 2013
Select your country at http://www.wikilovesmonuments.org/participate/ and follow the instructions
Every country has its own monuments, organization, partners and awards – and the 10 best photos for each country will be submitted to the international contest. That way, you automatically participate in the world wide contest by participating in a national contest in September
There are many awards including National Awards, International Awards and Special Awards. See more about awards here
